I picked Tennessee because I wanted to learn about the music in Tennessee.
HistoryThere was Spanish explorer named Hernando De Soto. Hernando De Soto explored Tennessee in 1540. Hernando De Soto came from Spain to Tennessee looking for gold. The Spanish people thought the American Indians had hidden gold.
People from North Carolina and Virginia came to Tennessee in 1770. In 1772 the colonists made a government called the Watauga Accusation. The Watauga lasted until the 1775.In March of 1775, Daniel Boone led a group of men on a trail known as the Wilderness Road .They The reason they called it the Wilderness Road because the people from Virginia and Kentucky needed to come to Tennessee and it was a short cut. |
Revolutionary WarThe Revolutionary War was started in 1775 and it ended in 1778. The name Tennessee came from Taasi, the name of the Cherokee village. In 1780, a man named Johan Sevier led a group of men across the mountain. June 1, 1796, Tennessee became the 16th state. In Tennessee, under water there are plants. |

Geography
There are eight states that border Tennessee. They are North Carolinian, Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. Tennessee’s nickname is the “Volunteer state” it is called volunteer state because people volunteered to fight in the war. A lot of farmers are holding huge crops called plantations. Tennessee is the 36th largest state.
