I picked North Carolina because my family goes there every summer. Did you know that North Carolina has a swing bridge one mile above sea level? I hope you enjoy the rest of my report.
History

GovernmentThe governor of N.C. is Pat McCrory. The governor is. There are fifty state senators. There are twelve representatives. Some governors only got a one year term and they weren't allowed to veto. Now they have four year terms and the can veto. The state senators are Richard Burr and Kay Hagan. Burr is Republican and Hagan is Democrat.
ClimateIn N.C. they have warm summers and high above freezing in the winters. July and August are the rainiest months. In the Blue Ridge Mountains they have heavy snowfalls. Fall and summer are there hurricane months
PeopleMichel Jordan and Ava Gardner were born in North Carolina. She was an actress. She was born in 1922 and died in 1988.

State SymbolsThe Carolina lily is the state’s wild flower. The stone is emerald. The states bird is cardinal then the dog is the plot hound. The states insect is the honey bee. Then the grey squirrel is the mammal.
The state drink is milk. The vegetable is potato. The fruit is the grape, the state berries are blueberry and strawberry CultureThe world’s first Krispy Kreme’s opened in NC. North Carolina is known for car races. They also have a festival called Pig Picking and they eat pig picking cake.
Geography
In 1952, a swing bridge was built one mile from sea level on Grandfather Mountain. The bridge is 288 feet and people are only allowed to walk across. The reason why they call Grandfather Mountain is because it looks like an old man. The capital of NC is Raleigh. The bordering states are Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Economy and Resources
North Carolina produces medicine, cleaning supplies and fertilizer and also rubber. Some natural resources are rock, sand, gravel, clay, and limestone. Education is a big part of N.C. economy. Visitors come to see the University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University and Duke. North Carolina builds most of the country's wooden furniture.

Fun FactsThe first known miniature golf course happens to be in Fayette, NC. The first English child to be born in the colonies was born in Roanoke in 1587. The world’s first Pepsi was created and sold in New Ben, N.C.
